Prosthetics

As the news revealed the tremendous number Haitians who suffered crush wounds in the earthquake,  Kamil Leman, owner of Precision Prosthetics, began an effort to collect used prosthetics in Wyoming.  He was met by a great response from Wyoming amputees.   Kamil and Wyoming Haiti Relief volunteers have been traveling to Haiti casting amputees and returning to Wyoming to build custom prosthetics.  Then it’s back to Haiti to deliver new limbs and provide therapy assistance to Haitian amputees.

The number of amputees in Haiti is overwhelming and the need for ongoing prosthetic provision and adjustment is great.  In addition to continuing to deliver custom prosthetics to Haitian amputees, our goal is to one day establish a prosthetics lab in Haiti and to train Haitian practitioners in the construction and adjustment of custom prosthetics.
